Physical activity and exercise are vital in maintaining and improving balance, mobility and activities of daily living. Exercise can also improve non-motor symptoms including improved cognitive function, improved depression symptoms, improved sleep.  The largest ever study of Parkinson’s Disease,  Parkinson’s Outcomes Project , found that people with PD who start exercising earlier in their disease course for a minimum of 2.5 hours per week experience a slowed decline in quality of life compared to those who start later. Establishing early exercise habits is essential to overall disease management.
